We offer B+E car and trailer tuition to companies and private individuals who require the B+E category added to their licence. We have an excellent first time pass rate in B+E, L.G.V Class C (rigid) and Class C+E (artic).

If you passed your driving test after January 1^st 1997, you need to pass a B+E test to tow a trailer, horsebox or caravan combination exceeding 3,500kgs.

All B+E driving courses include the use of our vehicle and trailer. We also have our own private full size training area in which to conduct the reversing exercise etc.

The B+E driving test is conducted at the L.G.V driving test centre and lasts for approximately one hour. The test consists of the following requirements:

▪ The ability to carry out safety checks on your vehicle
▪ The reversing exercise
▪ The braking exercise
▪ Uncoupling and recoupling the trailer
▪ The on-road driving

The on-road part is a full driving test and you will be expected to drive to a very high standard. Particular emphasis during the test is placed upon the use of mirrors, forward planning, general observations, road positioning as well as consideration for other road users.

The B+E towing courses available are two or three days long, depending on the experience of the individual. Those who have experience with reversing will generally only need two days tuition, whereas those who have no experience at all with reversing a trailer may require an extra day to get to grips with this element of the course.

We also offer caravan training courses, starting from complete beginners to those who require a refresher course or help and assistance with any other aspect of towing such as reversing.
